Bedford Athletic advanced to the final of the East Midlands Cup with a 47-26 victory away to Oundle.
The grounds for victory were laid in the first half as the side built a 35-0 lead by the interval. A first half hat trick for Liam Beaumont was interspersed with tries for Charlie Darlow and Michael Trigg, all of which were converted by Leo Mortimer.
Oundle staged something of a recovery in the second half as they scored four tries to the visitor’s one in response but having narrowed the score to 40-26 Bedford Athletic had the final say with a try by Stephen Woodhead, converted by Tom Orton.
The team will now meet Peterborough in the Final at Goldington Road at the end of April.
